Route: Hathersage – Howden Moors – Bleaklow – Kinder Scout – Edale
Late in the season – weather is challenging, but colours are beautiful!
Stone-paved trails across moors – terrain around is soaked in water, but the walkway is firm
Several metres thick layers of peat remind of dense forests that covered these plateaus in ancient times
Strong west wind created an unusual phenomenon – the waterfall at the edge of Kinder Scout plateau was literally blown up, almost no water reached the ground below!
